This valuable monument is a cylindrical building located in the southern part of Khorram- Abad. It was built in the suburb of the ancient city of Shapoorkhast to guide caravans. Remains of thick walls made of stone and plaster found near the minaret (in the present Shaqayeq park and square) are evidence of such establishments as a caravanserai (inn) and mosque. Its architectural style indicates that this building probably dates back to the Deylamite era. The minaret now is shorter than that originally built due to natural factors. It is now 30 meters high, taking its stone base into account. The building diameter diminishes to 4.5 meters in its lowest part. The top of this minaret can be accessed via 99 steps spiraling inside it. The minaret entrance is on the west side. This valuable building belongs to the Buwaihids (the Deylamites), and it is listed as a national monument under the number 376.
